In 2018, our company celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Our memorable products were introduced to the market in each era.
Among those, the TS7409 pneumatic tire roller was one of the most popular models, with a total of 6784 units produced between 1970 and 1983. This excellent model has been loved and is still active in Southeast Asia.
This model has been working for building roads not only in Japan but around the world, contributing to the improvement of the living environment of people in those countries, making them smile, and protecting them.
As part of the commemorative events of our 100th anniversary, we decided to restore one of 6784 units, the TS7409 1979 model, as a symbol of the unity of SAKAI employees.
Here is a report on how the restoration work proceeded. It is divided into four parts.
February 2020

The unit was brought into Global Service Division in a junk state.
The brake did not work, the floor boards around the operator station were badly rusted. It was really out of order.
After that, all parts and components were disassembled and sorted into parts to be reused and replaced.
April 2020

Before talking about the restoration work, let us introduce members of the restoration team.
Seven members have been assigned to complete the project within 6 months.
Everyone did their best, using their knowledge and experience.
As you can see in the photo, some parts have already been removed, which was an acceptable mistake.
