AN EFFICIENT PRODUCTION SYSTEM RESPONDING
TO CONTEMPORARY MARKET NEEDS

|
Providing users with better product more quickly and economically has always been a fundamental precept of SAKAI's manufacturing philosophy. This precept is never more apparent than in the daily operations of both its Tokyo and Mohka manufacturing plants. The Tokyo plant, situated on a 60,000m2 (14.8 acre) site, is dedicated to the production of heavier products (six tons and up). This state of the art facility handles the entire process from the machining of parts through final assembly, painting, inspection and shipping. The production line is outfitted with the latest technology at every essential point. This includes NC lathes, a fully automatic machining center, roll benders for forming heavy plate into cylinders and turning machines for the precision machining of steel plates. |
The production of smaller pieces of equipment (under six tons) is carried out at the Mohka plant which is located on 43,000m2 (10.6 acre) site. The production and control computer systems at each factory are networked with SAKAI's sales offices throughout the nation enabling the system to rapidly respond to user's needs. The SAKAI New Production System (SNPS) was introduced to better achieve the goal of "Producing what is necessary, when necessary, in the quantity neccessary and all in the most economical way prossible". In this system, the TACT LINE optimizes production in the "small lot-mixed flow" manufacturing scenario. Through SAKAI's rigorous quality control system, proven in securing ISO9001 Certification, the company is now transforming the confidence it enjoys from around the world into products of ever higher quality and added value. |
